What to do on yet another snow day...

So yes, we were inflicted again with another day of missing school. N was extremely upset as this is his Star of the Week week and he was missing sharing something today. Consoling was useless as there was nothing that would change that he was indeed missing today. Entertainment was in order and we found much to do.....

we made a castle wall with snow bricks - later knocked it down with huge snowballs - also had fun throwing the snowballs at each other.

we began making Leprechaun traps. We found this idea in Family Fun magazine but my son has taken it and is running with it. He first designed it on his easel (you can see the drawing behind in this first picture) and then began to work with a box of recyclables (left over from the droid building at his party). He built several traps and taped chocolate coins as the gold enticement for the leprechaun. I have a feeling these will be in constant refinement over the next few weeks but they sure were a lot of fun for a snowy, bummer of a day.
