This poem is one given to me by my Aunt while I was in graduate school. I have no idea where she got it but I've carried it around with me since then. It now hangs on my refrigerator.
You are climbing a majestic mountain.
This is a strenuous excursion.
The trail is steep and rough in places.
But you will manage if you just remember what is important:
You don't turn loose of your focus.
You don't get sidetracked.
You don't worry about keeping score.
You don't let a bad line call throw you.
You don't think about how darling you look in your little outfit.
You don't worry about who gets to play on center court.
In other words, what you need to do here is:
KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL!
