Wow what a weekend!

This weekend was spectacular. As a surprise for our 15th Anniversary, my husband made reservations to stay at a wonderful cabin on the Olympic Coast. It was fabulous. We made our way across the waters of the Puget Sound - our son got his first ferry ride in a car. Then off across the land. It was longer than I had thought it would be and our tired legs (and other parts) were glad when we passed the beautiful Lake Crescent and arrived in Forks. After a stretch and gas fill up we continued on south. We had a great cabin over looking the Pacific Ocean. The first night we were treated to the most amazing sunset - the rest of the time was a bit cloudy with sun breaks. We spent the days hiking the Hoh Rainforest, playing on the beaches, and thoroughly enjoying the view. The nights were spent with a fire on the beach, walking out as far as we could go. The mornings we walked out even farther and admired the sea anemonies, the mussels, and the barnicles covering the rocks. It was great. It took us 7 years to see more of our new home state but this was worth the wait. So relaxing, sitting on the couch in the cabin, watching the ocean and the sea birds, listening to my boys go on and on about the adventures they just had, crocheting. Now that's the life.
